Synopsys India is engaged with the academia at several different levels:
Industrial Training
Annually, pre-final and final year graduates in CS/EE disciplines from different IITs and RECs are offered industrial training in different product groups within Synopsys India. The program exposes budding engineers to the actual working environment within the EDA industry. Students are included in the product development teams and are assigned independent exploratory type development jobs. These students are then often offered jobs by the respective department.
Campus Recruitment
Many of the new employees in Synopsys India come from campus recruitment from IITs and RECs. Synopsys India is the preferred employer at the campuses every year. Students who wish to pursue careers in core software development and VLSI design eagerly await Synopsys placement interviews. Those talented students who are offered jobs with the company end up as very satisfied employees at Synopsys India.
Joint Venture
Many business groups of Synopsys Inc. execute projects within Synopsys India. Some of the R&D groups have collaboration with IITs (and IISc) to jointly research ideas in specific product domains. The project managers work with the heads of the departments and professors of the institutes to identify mutual topics of interest, which are then selected and researched using combined resources.
